Rules and organisation notes for Indoor Hockey

  1. Eligible players: A player may only play for one team in any one season. They should be a member of the club for which they are playing.

  1. Goals: The first two named teams must help to put up the goals to be able to begin the first game by 7.05 p.m. The last two teams must help put the goals away.

  1. Kit: Team colours must be worn. Either shorts or skirts are acceptable. If wearing cycle shorts underneath they must be the same colour. All players must wear numbered shirts. In case of a colour clash the 2nd named team must wear a change of colour. Teams must change in the changing rooms provided, and NOT on the balcony. Please do not wear any outdoor footwear in the sports hall (whether a player or non playing member of team) as this makes the floor slippery.

  1. Ball: The first named team must provide a ball, which will be either a pink or orange indoor ball.

  1. Attendance: Clubs failing to play their games will be penalised. For each non-appearance a team will be fined £15. They will have 2 points deducted from their total and will concede the game 2-0.

At least 48 hours notice must be given by telephone to a committee member if a team cannot play an allocated game to avoid being fined.   Pauline Hyam  01753 868049(h)   07775 923616(m)   Audrey Hewes  01784 456513

  1. Timing: All games, whether league or cup, will be 10 minutes each way with a straight turn around at half time. All games must start promptly. If a team is not ready to start at the allocated time, then the other team may be awarded that game to enable the later games to run on time. Therefore if a team has 4 players then that game must begin. Due to the tight schedule of the Indoor League, teams will not be able to knock up or practice corners before games.

  1. Scoring: The scoring system used will be 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss. This is to bring us in line with the Middlesex outdoor league scoring system.

  1. Information: As far as possible, up to date league sheets and a playing schedule for the evening will be displayed on the balcony at the timing box.

  1. Games: The games will be played in accordance with the English Hockey Association Indoor Hockey Rules 2005.

  1. Security: Do not leave any belongings unattended at any time. Take bags to the sports hall when playing. You are responsible for your own belongings. Cars are parked in the school car park at your own risk.

Have a great season
